'We spent a day eating street food in the city of Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. Penang is known worldwide for having some of the best street food in all of Asia (if not the whole world), so we knew we had go and check out it out for ourselves! We started off with Wanton Mee, a soup, similar in style to ramen, with a light broth, noodles, wantons, and pork. Next up we tried Char Kway Teow, which is a fried noodle dish. It’s typically served with prawns and cockles but we asked for the vegetarian version. This ended up being our absolute favourite dish of the day, it was delicious! Next we headed to Little India in Penang where we found an Indian Malaysian restaurant called Restoran Tajuddin Hussain, which is well known for its curry. Here we tried Nasi Kandar, which is a rice dish, typically served with a curry sauce, ours also came with chicken. Lastly we searched around for one of the more popular Malaysian dishes called Nasi Lemak, which is typically served for breakfast, so we had a difficult time finding it. Eventually we came across it. Nasi Lemak is basically coconut rice, ours was served with a sauce over top, a hard boiled egg and some friend anchovies. Places featured: Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.
