'I chatted with the Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten, over Instagram Live. We talked about her Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. For Thanksgiving she said, “I made a spatchcocked turkey doing it like a sheet pan dinner with all kinds of autumn vegetables.” For Christmas Garten said she’s planning on just a small Covid safe celebration with just her husband, Jeffrey. She’s said she’s making a ham with an orange marmalade and a Boston cream pie for dessert. Ina also shared gift ideas for people who love to cook. “Two things very few people have in their kitchen’s that I have is a ruler and a kitchen scale,” she said. Ina said she uses the ruler to check the size of a pan or how large to cut vegetables and the scale to measure recipes precisely.
