'Using the paddle attachment on the Kitchenaid Mixer makes it so much easier to cream butter and make delicious and easy vanilla buttercream frosting!  Recipe-  Ingredients   2 cups powdered sugar ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature  1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons milk   Directions  1 In medium bowl, cream butter in electric mixer with paddle attachment on low speed. Stir in 1 cup of powdered sugar. 2. Once mixture gets clumpy add 1 tablespoon of the milk. 3. Gradually add 2nd cup of powdered sugar, then 2nd tablespoon of milk. If frosting is too thick, beat in more milk, a few drops at a time. If frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount of powdered sugar.  4. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.  *This recipe is for small/single layer cakes. For double layer, double the recipe.
