'Visit our official website at http://www.mana.my KL’s hidden food treasures can be found here in the heart of Chinatown. Chee Cheong Fun (rice noodles), Yong Tau Fu, Curry Laksa (laksa means noodles in the local term), Assam Laksa, Cendol, Ais Batu Campur (more affectionately known as ABC) are just the tip of the iceberg. It is vibrant with loud sounds, the smell of food in the air is enough to make one hungry and once you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, sit down and start ordering your food… Where Madras Lane is concerned, every foodie in Kuala Lumpur knows that this place is famous for a few things – curry laksa, assam laksa, yong tau foo and chee cheong fun. One of the curry laksa stall here has been doing a brisk business for 50 odd years and just next to that curry laksa stall, a third generation yong tau foo business still runs, that has lasted for 60 years. There are also drink stalls that serves thirst quenching drinks besides the usual tea and coffee. The alley is clean and stools are available in front of each food stall for ‘counter dining’ street hawker style. At nine o’clock on a weekday, Madras Lane is not normally busy and would be the best time to check out the stalls with an empty stomach! Madras Lane is a melting pot for Malaysian street food.
