'I used to color my hair with food dye as a teenager, and I just really wanted to try it again. So I thought I\'d film the whole DIY process of bleaching and dying my hair at home for anyone else who might be interested. It\'s probably not as good as just buying regular hair dye from the store, BUT it\'s cheaper, still pretty effective, and you may already have the supplies at home! You will need some kind of bleach or hair lightening product if your hair is dark (you could probably also use hydrogen peroxide if your hair is already blonde; idk do some google searches first haha), food dye in a color of your choice, gloves to protect your hand, and a few hours of time. If your hair is dark (like my shade or darker) PLEASE go slow with the bleaching process. I\'d even recommend doing a test strip on a strand of hair that\'s easily hidden so you can test how long to leave the bleach on to get the desired lightness without completely frying your hair where it\'s noticeable. The color will typically turn out more pastel, but you can mix the dye colors and get some fun results. Anyway, I\'m happy to answer any questions about this process, just leave me a comment below! I love being able to take something old (whether I already own it or found it at the thrift store) and turn it into something new; you’ll find a lot of thrift-flips, mending, alterations, and other creative projects here! Living frugally and being intentional with my belongings is also very important to me; I enjoy clothes but strive to shop second-hand as much as possible and use what I already own. I hope I can encourage others to also become Outfit Repeaters with this channel. I hope you’ll stick around!'
