'Celebrating the World Food Day 2014 in Bangladesh'

' Mr. Mike Robson, FAO Representative in Bangladesh expresses his views on the importance of the integrated farming system in Bangladesh in the wake of newly taken theme of World Food Day 2014-Family Farming: “Feeding the world, caring for the earth”. In his opinion, he puts significance on the role and challenges of FAO Bangladesh in creating the linkage among technology, farmers and extension workers.   The theme of World Food Day 2014 has been chosen to celebrate the day worldwide to raise the profile of family farming and smallholder farmers. It focuses world attention on the significant role of family farming in eradicating hunger and poverty, providing food security and nutrition, improving livelihoods, managing natural resources, protecting the environment, and achieving sustainable development, in particular in rural area.    © FAO www.fao.org '
