'By the time you read this, the IPL 2018 edition would be well underway and Mumbai Indians would either make it to the qualifiers and maybe the finals or would have gone down fighting. Irrespective of that, they were the 2017 champions and this is the wedding story of the cricketer who won the man of the match of the finals of 2017. Incidentally, he proposed to his lady love on that very momentous day. Here is how it all started... She was into events and celebrity management and it was his brother who had introduced them on the phone regarding some work related matters. Later, the moment he saw her pictures, he wanted to meet her. There was something about her that he adored and the feelings were mutual. She found him warm, affectionate and charming in an understated way - just her type as much as she was his. Both were shy in an endearing way but when they spoke with each other, they could bring a house down. Together they made a great couple and everyone around started noticing it. Months of friendship soon paved way to dating and before long they knew they belonged to each other in an honest way where they could discuss just about anything in the world without the fear of being judged. She had found a friend, lover and soul mate in him and together they were ready to walk hand-in-hand through each others’ battles and insecurities of life. He was clearly bowled over by this beauty. Krunal Pandya proposed to his lady love Pankhuri Sharma on the night he won the man of the match at the finals of IPL 2017 and she almost missed the proposal as she was busy trying to shield her face from the cake! She finally said yes and as they charmed their way into each other’s hearts, they made the world around a little brighter, a little rosier and a lot more fun with their infectious enthusiasm and laughter. In the world of cricket, Krunal Pandya is one of the most genuine, team oriented and loved players both on and off the field. Ask people close to him and you’ll see them talk about him in a way they talk about about a loved elder brother and a respected mentor. When Pankhuri contacted us to film her wedding, we met up with a beautiful, soft spoken person with innocent, warm and smiling eyes. Ten minutes into the conversation we knew we had to film this wedding and our meeting with Krunal cemented that gut feeling. We’re glad we filmed this one - and while doing so we’ve made friends with two of the most genuine people we’ve come across. As we started planning the film, we knew we had to do an exclusive track (maybe Gujarati) for the trailer and so as we started brainstorming on the kind of songs and feel of the film, Krunal said to us, “We’re true Indians at heart - We may be Gujaratis by blood but totally Punjabis by dance - let’s recreate a Punjabi track for the Sangeet portion that has all the elements of dance and masti that I want my wedding to have. The trailer track is a mixture of three exclusive tracks - the first one is a track called ‘Kal Raat’ sung by Dilpreet Bhatia and Harjot K. Dhillon followed by ‘Chamba’ by Harjot K. Dhillon and ends with ‘Jind Mahi’ by Jatinder Singh. If only we could show you the behind the scenes footage of the fun recording sessions of these tracks right now, you would get a real feel of the process of recording that was very little work and a lot of party and laughter. For those of you who don’t know, Krunal has a younger brother Hardik Pandya and we hear he is a cricketer too! At the wedding, he danced and danced like the world was going to end and that’s when a lot of people were convinced that his unending energy both on and off the field could be the reason why he was and would be such a rockstar in cricket and in life!
