'How Turkish Street Food Kokorech is Made | Kokoreç | Lamb Intestine Sandwich'

'Turkish Kokorech, locally known as Kokoreç, is a typical Turkish dish made from lamb intestines! That\'s right, the intestines of lambs are removed and cleaned thoroughly, and wrapped onto a cylinder shape before being roasted for about two hours. It may seem easy at first sight but this special street food takes hours to be prepared and cooked as one roll of Kokorech spit requires the intestines of a whopping four lambs! That\'s pretty insane! This week as Turkey Welcomes You team, we went to one of the most famous Kokorech shops in Istanbul, Kokoreççi Tekin Usta, located in the Küçükçekmece neighborhood. In this shop, Kokorech is not only served like a Kokorech sandwich but also served as a Kokorech platter with a side of grilled peppers and tomatoes. Adding spices to Kokorech is crucial for the taste. Whether you prefer spicy Kokorech or non-spicy Kokorech, Kokoreççi Tekin Usta has got you covered. Turkish Street Food series is a Turkey Welcomes You original series that features the best of Turkish street food delicacies. Each episode features a unique dish that reflects the soul of Turkish street cuisine. Keep on watching the video to find out more on how to cook Turkish Kokorech in this video!
