'Honeysuckle is a modern community center concept to be set in West Philadelphia. This community center uses food as its anchor for communing. This project will include a small grocer, meat market, cafe library, and a supper club that functions through the weekend nights only. Food spaces need to be reinvented to serve more than good food. Honeysuckle achieves this by operating as a philosophy that speaks to the existence and validity of Black folks. It uses history, the arts, education, agriculture, commerce, and food to assert this value. The modern community center that I am building will operate under this umbrella in all of its faculties. The purpose of this is to not only engage with the community but also to build and grow into the fabric of the community already established in West Philadelphia for generations to come.'
